Hi!

I'm deploying MSPS 2002 on Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition with
installed MS SQL Server 2000 (SP3) and IIS 6.

After installation of Project Server were finished, i got database
'ProjectServer' in MS SQL and nothing else. I know that during
installation virtual folder should be created in selected website
(default one in my case) - <Default web site>/projectserver/.

I got nothing in IIS, but the following files in C:\Program Files\:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Project Server>dir /b
Bin

The question is: What is the problem? And what should i do whit IIS to
get Project Server working well?

What did i already try:
1) uninstallin of MS PS 2002, SQL 2000, deleting Application Server
role in windows (i.e. deleting of IIS & components).
2) rreinstall of windows (recommended upgrade) - to fix any (if they
were) broken files.

Any ideas and sugestions are wellcome. Clear new install of Windows
makes me crazy ;) He-eelp!

In your IIS configuration tootl, sdd manually a virtual directory named
"projectserver" pointing to your "IIS Virtual Root" folder and see if
that helps. This should be enough (I had this problem too and it solved it).

Did you install the update for Project Server 2002 when
installing on a Windows 2003 server. I had the same thing
happen to me, everything seemed to install fine but
nothing showed up in IIS, I installed this update
rebooted the server and everything seemed to come up at
that point. Hope this helps

Thanks to all of you - Gary, Michal, John!

Problem concerned been solved this morning :)

My fault is that i were trying to get an 100% working Project Server
and just after that going to install updates.

After installing ps1001.exe & ps1002.exe everything working fine!
Thanks, John!

Michal, yeap, i complete 'manual creation of virtual folder' but this
didn't resolve the problem for me. M.b. i did something wrong.

Gary, yes it looks like installation completed Ok - even message 'MS
Prj Server successfully installed' or something like this appeared.
But that is all. "How have you determined that something is wrong with
it?" RE:
1) i started MS IE and enter 'http://SERVERNAME/projectserver/' and
get error '404 The page cannot be found'.
2) opened IIS: there were nothing in root folder of default site
except 'iisstart.htm'.
3) take a look in \Program files\Project server\ - files were there.
4) take a look in SQL database - 'ProjectServer' base were there.

I should try to install patches first :)

Thanks again to all!
