Problem removing attachment

Hi

I'm using O 2002 sp2.

When I want to remove an attachment, I double click the message to open it
in its own window.
I right click the attachment, & select remove.

Initially it seems to remove the attachment.

When I close the message down, it asks me if I want to save. I click Yes.
However in my Inbox, it still shows the paperclip icon & when I double click
it again the attachment is still there.

Any ideas of a solution?

Please note I'm also posting this mail (independently) to outlook.general.
What's the difference between the two?
