Problem sending to groups: some unknown addresses are bad

In Entourage, I rely on group mailings. Each "macro" group may contain
8 subgroups, and in each subgroup there is between 20-50 addresses.

I'm finding that if there are a few addresses wrong in the database,
it won't send the group email to anyone. I have to select each
individual group, and even then, because I don't know if there are bad
addresses in it, it may not send. I have no way to figure out what the
bad addresses are amidst them all.

Any way around this? My hands are tied.

I have had this problem occasionally, too. The only solution I have found
is to split the list into two. The half that won't send contains the bad
address. Do this again with that list and so on. A sort of binary search.
A pain in the ass, but the only way I've found that will identify the bad
address if it is not obvious when scanning the list by eyeball.

You could use my script "Separate Group Messages" which sends an individual
message to each group member from a message directed to a group. (It was
written for Entourage 2001 but works fine with X.) All the messages to valid
recipients will go out, and only the messages to invalid email addresses
will error, so you'll know which those are.
