Problems after Mac system 10.3.8 update

Hello - I've been using Entourage (both X and then 2004) for quite awhile
with no trouble connecting to our Exchange server.

Then, today, after upgrading to Mac system 10.3.8, I stopped receiving mail,
and I got a periodic "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password"
error message.

When I check my mail using Outlook Express (in Classic mode) it's fine, as
is mail using the web client. I even went so far as to delete the account
and re-create it, with the same results.

The crazy thing is, I can still SEND mail, but only if I start the program,
and rush out the message before I get the "Logon failure" error message.
Once I receive the error message, Entourage quits talking to the Exchange
server (or something) and I can't send or receive mail.

Anyone else have this (or similar) problem?

You might want to go to apple site and look for combo update...which is
larger to download, but might have more stuff than the software update
file that is limited to only the new stuff.

Thanks - tried that. I even deleted the account and created a new one with
exactly the same results.

Usual question - did you repair permissions after the update? I
updated through Software Update and have had no problems with
Entourage 2004, FWIW.
