It sounds like a PowerPoint issue. Once you have double-clicked the
attachment in Entourage and it has opened in PowerPoint, then Entourage
should be out of the picture. There is a PowerPoint newsgroup you can
ask on instead, at microsoft.public.mac.office.powerpoint
Things you might perhaps try, to make sure it is PowerPoint--
1) Make sure the attachment has completely downloaded and that part of
it is not still on the server. It should not be possible it if it hasn't
downloaded all the way, though, so that's unlikely.
2) double-clicking an attachment in Entourage saves the file to
~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Saved Attachments (where ~ is shorthand
for your user account in the OS). Do you get different results if you
open it directly, or using File | Open from inside PPT? If not,
definitely a PPT issue, ask in that group.
3) What if you resave the document somewhere else on your hard drive,
close and reopen it? Does it still hang? If so, definitely a PPT
issue, ask in that group.
