There are only a few of us in the office who are using Entourage and there
seems to be some issues with sending emails.
There are several different smtp servers involved, so it might be a hard
sell to convince me this is an ISP issue, nor is the problem consistent.
Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. Truthfully, when I talk to our
ISP and say MAC, their eyes automatically start to cross.
Here's the deal. When some folks click on "send now" it appears that it has
sent. However, what actually happens is the email gets transferred to the
drafts folder and if you try to delete it or transfer , you get a message
saying you can't delete it because it is still sending. Yet there are no
error messages saying there was any problem contacting the SMTP server.
Sometimes it does eventually send within a few hours; but one gal thought
she had sent something 4 days ago that still hasn't sent and she still gets
the "sending" message when she tries to delete or transfer it.
We've rebooted, we've hit "send" again. I see nothing in preferences that
would allow for delayed sending. I'm mystified (although some days it's more
easily accomplished than others)
Like I said, there is nothing to indicate there is any problem connecting to
the SMTP server. I can send an email through any of the other 4 eamil
programs I have on my computer with no problems or delays. The only thing
that has been noticed is that while it generally clears itself out, the
problem seems to pop up after a Mac software update.
