problems with email when there is no sender or subject

Hi,

I'm sure other people must be having this problem but I can't find any
useful information concerning its resolution.

Recently, I've been receiving a lot of email messages with no apparent
sender and no subject. I can't even really call it spam because the message
also appears to have no body!

Anyway, Outlook 2003 won't download these but I can see them in my POP3
account if I log onto my account via its web-interface. However, Outlook
also can't/won't delete them and when it tries to it also aborts the
deletion of all of the other, already downloaded, messages from the server
(it displays an error stating that the connection to the server was
interrupted). Because of this, normal messages are never removed from the
server and Outlook keeps redownloading them (so that I build up many copies
of the same messages in my inbox). I have to keep using the browser to go
into my email account, several times a day, in order to delete the
no-sender/no-subject messages which are causing the problem.

I don't know if this problem is applicable only to Outlook - I don't imagine
so - but I wondered if anyone could suggest a remedy.
