G5 1.6Ghz running OS10.2.7, and Office X
When I tried to launch Entourage this morning it came up with a
message that it couldn't read the database. It gave me the option to
try and rebuild the database but this didn't work, nor did the
advanced rebuild that it offered me as an option after that, saying
the database may not be recoverable. I made a copy of the Office X
Identities folder to my desktop and deleted the five files in my Main
Identity folder (database, database cache, mailing list, signatures
and rules) and Entourage now runs as though it's a new install. My
question is, is there any way of getting into the original database
file that I have copied to my desktop and getting the information
back? I'm not too bothered about getting the files back into Entourage
but there are e-mails in my sent items that I'd at least like to be
able to read again in some form (whether that only be in a text file).
Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

PS The database file is 1.9Gb which I guess may be the cause of the
problem in the first place so doesn't open up in Word (which has a
32mb file limit).
