Problems with PowerPoint

I can not start PowerPoint. Each attempt brings forth
the message that an error has occurred and PP must shut
down. Then upon re-starting PP, I get a "would like to
start in safe mode" message. Regardless of the choice, I
continue to get the prior error message and "send report."

I have uninstalled Office XP and re-loaded it. The same
errors contineu to haunt me. What can I do to get my PP
back to normal!!!????

I realise you don't have ppt 2000, but particularly try the pcb file part.
