Problems With Product Key.. Help.

Derek

Hello,

I own Microsoft Office Student andd Teacher Edition. I
had it installed on my old computer, and i recently
bought a new laptop. I lost the case which had my product
key in it, but I still have the origional cd to install
it. I looked up in the Microsoft Knowledgebase Articles,
and found Artical #823570 intitled 'How To Obtain A New
Product Key For Office Program Setup'. And they told me
to call microsft and have the following information
available...
1. The product CD-ROM.
2. The computer that you wish to install office to.
3. The readable parts of your origional product key (if
available)
4. The ProductID information in the Microsoft Windows
Registry.

So I called.... They told me it would cost 10$ which
doesn't make sense cause first I payed 150$ for it and
second they didn't ask me for that ProductID or whatever
it is.

What can I do to obtain my product key, I was told my
ProductID is just a encypted version of it and honestly
this is getting pretty sickning.

Pay $10 to MS being careless enough to lose your product key. What is your
problem? They actually are being pretty nice...most companies would require
you to buy another copy of the software.
