Product key for office home and student 2007 is incorrect

On install the product key that is supplied with my copy of Office Home and
Student 2007 is called incorrect. Have retyped and recheck multiple times
with same result. How do I get a product key that works if it won't even run
the one supplied with the retail packaging?

Trial version was never installed. I reformatted my harddrive, reinstalled
win XP and decided to switch to 2007. There was no version of office on this
system prior to the install.
