programs opening with Outlook

Hello, i am running Offie XP on Windows XP
Professional...every time I open Outlook 2002, windows
messenger 4.0 icon appears in the SysTray...why does this
happen and is there anyway to stop this from
happening...Windows Messenger 4.0 is not listed or
checked off under the Startup tab in the System
Configuration Utility...any help is greatly
appreciated...Renegade

In Outlook, go to Tools | Options | Other and clear the Instant Messaging
checkbox.
