project 2000 crashing w network files

I use MS project 2000 with SR-1 on a Windows 2000 PC.

Project crashes and generates an application error when I
update schedules directly from my company's network server.

If I copy the same file to my local drive, the issue
doesn't exist.

I've found a registry setting which resolved this for
Project 98 but it is expected to be fixed w Project 2000
and SR-1.

Has anyone had a similar problem?
