Project 2003. show school/public holidays incl. weekends.

I need to show school & public holidays (including weekends) on the base
calandar. Our work needs to be done on these dates sometimes and it would be
great to see at a glance these dates. The only way i can overcome the limits
in MS Prject 2003 is to have a task set for each of these dates. but then
when i set a task for EasterSaturday next year (7/4/07) the task is moved to
Monday or cancelled.

Tamm Fox,
Project schedules tasks based on the working time calendar (Tools/Change
Working Time). Normally the standard calendar is customized to show
national and company holidays as non-working time, however, it sounds
like your requirements are to have some of those normal holidays as
working time. For example, if Easter Sunday next year (I'll assume it is
April 7, 2007) needs to be a working day then you need to set it as
nondefault working time. The same applies to any other normal
non-working time (e.g. weekends).

In addition, unless you have other requirements on your resources, I
recommend you make sure all your resources also use the customized
calendar for their working time. You can do this on the Resource Sheet
under the Base Calendar field heading.

You might like to take a look at FAQ 5 - Default Working Hours on our
MVP website at: http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm.

Hope this helps.
