Project 2007, "Do you want to override it with the latest 2007 for

I have Project 2007 set to work by default (save) with Project 2003 formatted
files. Since I work with project teams in a large corporation it may take
some time for the latest version of MS Office products to be rolled out and
so I have Project '07 setup to work in this way.

I would like to know if there is a way to disable the constant reminder that
it is possible to save the project file that I am working with to the newer
file format on every save?

How do I disable this message that occurs every time I save a file in a
legacy Project file format?

Thanks!

Hi Bg,

As no one else has weighed in -- I'm sorry but, no, to the best of my
knowledge that quite irritating prompt cannot be disabled. I did a
quick check on both google groups as well as the Microsoft connect site
for MS Project and don't see any relevent comments.

I did notice that I am only seeing the prompt on the first save of a
file. All other subsequent saves to the file are "prompt-free." I'm
not sure by your description -- but are you getting the prompt every
time you save an open file?

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie,

Thanks for checking into this issue for me (us).

I can duplicate this action on the initial save only, and only one time for
each session. Subsequent saves during that same session will not generate
that message.

So:

Open the document, change it|save ---> get msg|change again (or not)|save
again---> no msg|close the file.
Open the Project file again, change (or not)|save the file ---> get dialog
box, same pattern contnues...

Hi Bg,

You're welcome and thanks for the feedback.

Yes, what you note below is precisely what I see as well. Alas, I don't
know of a way to disable the prompt. Sorry I don't have any better
news.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
