Project Data in HTML

Is it possible to save a Project file (with the Gantt chart) as HTML?

I understand that I can save the Gantt as .gif but the quality is poor
because the charts extend across a lot of pages.

Hi

not sure what you're after because HTML itself can not render pictures all
it does is link between the html page and a picture file (either gif / jpg or
pcx) and show them both together. So a HTML page containing your GIF file
will be of the same quality as the original GIF file.

You will see this quite clearly if you use the File / Save as Webpage option
on the file menu. When you work through the wizard using the "Save to HTML
using Standard Template" option, you will notice that you can link to a gif
file to display the image of the gantt chart (i've only got ver 2000 and
can't remember the exact wording of later versions).

My recommendation would be that you save your gantt chart as multiple gif
files, each showing a different phase or time period and then have the
overall one as well so people can read that and then focus in on the bits
they're interested in using the smaller gifs.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Julie.

I was hoping a workflow other than saving multiple gifs. I have done that
in the past using PhotoDraw. A week later would have a complete Gantt chart.

It is possible to create a kind of crude Gantt chart using pure HTML.
Basically you use an HTML table and fill the cells with a small colored box.
It's not very attractice, though. If you need the code, let me know and I
will try to find it.
