Project label sort does not work in mail inbox

I carefully label all saved e-mails into projects. The e-mail is there
in the proper project folder. But I leave many of them in the in-box
also, or in a folder. When I sort by project in the in-box, many (not
all) of the project-labeled messages come up as project "none." If I
unlabel and relabel, they sort in properly. Only happens with some,
not all, and only sometimes. Anybody else had the problem? Know a fix?

I haven't seen that problem, and I am unable to reproduce it.

Are you using more than one project for the emails? If so, the order in
which they are applied may make a difference in sort order.

Also, what type of mail - POP, IMAP or Exchange?

Some are multi-labled, Bruce; some are not. I'm using a POP on powerPC
Mac, latest OS, latest Entourage. Any ideas?

thanks
