Project sharing network and .mac tips?

I share 3 projects with a co-worker through my .mac account. While
syncronizing, Entourage will be hung up or stalled for 5 to 15 minutes
(spinning beach ball). In rare instances, the entire machine freezes
and I am forced to restart. I can work in other applications. So to
get around this, I will not allow Entourage to connect with my .Mac
account when starting. I only do so when we have things to synchronize.

Does anyone have any tips to keep this operation running more smoothly?

Use a local copy of your iDisk and Entourage will sync to that without you
noticing. Then, the system will take care of syncing the local copy to the
iDisk in the background - it may take a few more minutes for the public
share to be updated, but at least the app is useable in the meantime.

Excellent. Thanks. I'll try it.

Assuming you were responding to Barry (? - nothing quoted) he means
"Automatic Synching" in Tiger at System Preferences/.Mac/iDisk/iDisk
Synching On. That's what creates the local copy (though it doesn't look any
different in the Finder). It works very smoothly.
