Project tasks add an assigment requires ID instead of index

Hi,
this is, i guess, a bug instead a sugesstion...
the matter is that when i try to assign a new resource to a task, visual
basic 'advice' -with the yelow label- ask me for a tasks index, when, as
matter of fact, it really requires teh ID of the task.
It will be great to be changed, i wasted a lot of time to find out that it
was a bug.
thanks,
see u all

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you lost so much time over this.
Having the habit of reading the help for any method I use the first time,
with the help specifying explicitly taskID, it never occurred to me that it
could be task name!

.......

the help u mentioned, using visual basic to build macros for Ms Project i
mean, doesn't especify TaskId, it says task Index.
Altought index is not the task name as i finally understand from your reply,
is another integer to refer to the task.
Anyway you are right, the 'normal way' is to use the ID's of the objects,
like in this case, but using a method by first time, u trust in any help the
editor could bring, but this case, in which the 'advices' of the editor are
wrong. this is the sense of my post,
i hope it helps to somebody!
see u all!!

Hi,

The ghelp I mentioned is the description of all objects and methods as
obtained from the Object Browser in VBE.
It says Index is either the ID or the Name, not a different integer, and it
says ID where I saisdit does.
Hope this helps,
