Projecting a live Word program/document to demontrate use

I will be teahing a class of MS_Word use and want to project the live use of
a word document during my presentation so that I canshow on screen the use of
pull down menus, editing features, insertions, etc. Is this possible, and if
so, how (in general or specific terms).

I'd also like to be able to switch between having either the Word program or
a Powerpoint presentation on screen during my presentation.

If you open both word and powerpoint you can switch with alt + tab or in 2003
only ctrl T to show the task bar

You can also embed the appropriate Word doc on the desired slides. Click
Insert, Object, Create from file and browse to select your Word document. It
will embed the doc in your slide. You can resize it and change the Action
Settings on Mouse click to Object Action, Open. This gives you a miniature
of the actual doc on the slide and when you click on it, it opens the full
Word program with the document. It also keeps the document inside the
presentation but it does make the presentation bigger as well.

You can see more at: http://www.pptmagic.com/articles/dynamicppt.htm and
there's a companion download.

John's method is probably best if you're just switching back and forth
between PPT and Word, but if you want to show specific things and keep
everything in a nice bundle, this is an alternative.
