Promblem with backslash

Hi there,

I'm running office 2003 standard editon. My problem is when I'm trying to
type \\earth\share$ word will dispalay "wwearthwshare$.
Word will conver the backslash to W with strike. I cant type unc path on my
word this is kinda frustrating.

Please help me...

Hi Rashpal,

When you type and Word changes the text see if
immediately typing ctrl+z (undo) sets it back
correct.

If so, check your Tools=>Autocorrect Options=>Autocorrect
entries to see if there is one that replaces the slash
character.

Thanks for the reply bob done what u have suggested, still the same. Is this
related to any windows of office security settings.

Hi Rashpal,

If it's not from the autocorrect settings then
my guess is that it could be the keyboard language
layout you may have set in the Windows Control
Panel (Keyboard or Text Services applet).
