protect/lock Styles?

Hi, everyone...

We're using Word 2000 on Windows 2000.

Is it possible to protect a document so that users can add or remove
text but not alter Styles? Specifically, I want to prevent users from
adding new Styles or modify existing ones.

Can the document be locked in this way?

From what I can see in the online help, I can protect a document, but I
can't see that anything relates to Styles.

This type of protection was introduced in Word 2003.
