Protecting a (word)form - asier sounding than actually working ...

I’m trying to create a word form – leaving some parts of the document/form –
free (unprotected). According to the online help I keep reading on and on and
on, this should not be difficult. All one needs to do is to designate
separate sectors. After having done that there should be no problem assigning
each sector to be protected/unprotected (much like in pagelayout and such…)
However …
Protecting Doc to allow only comments and such – that works. No problem
there. Protecting ONE sector and thus leaving the rest unprotected, e.g. -
editable - NO NO NO!!!

What to do, what to do…

(I write albeit English being but my third language, hopefully I am able to
make myself understood anyway).

Since no one else did (my my - 4 hours!), I myself found one answer to this
mystery. And the answer is: badly written helpmanuals.
For it is indeed fully possible to leave specific parts of the form/template
unprotected - provided you choose the "right form" of protection!

Three alternatives are wrong, leaving the fourth - functioning.
And the answer is: Limit The Protection To Filling In a Form (whatever that
is in english...)
