proxy settings

I use a proxy setting to get into my school library system. When not using
the libraries, I remove the proxy from the System Preferences, Network,
Proxies tab. However, the proxy won't go away from my mail settings in
Entourage. When I went in to remove it, it was 'grayed' over and wouldn't let
me uncheck the box or change the proxy setting. Is there somewhere else I
should be looking to remove this setting?

Entourage gets the proxy settings from the OS. You'll need to quit Entourage
and restart when you change your proxy settings to make sure Entourage
"knows" what the most up to date settings are.
