Pub 2003: Mail Merging One-To-Many Relationships

Alcide

Hello All,

Something came up regarding mail merging info from one-to-many tables. That
is, one has a customer table (with FNAME, LNAME, ADDR1, ADDR2,City....)
connected via a foreign key to the many table(s). We want to merger the info
into the document showing the one customer with their many associated
transactions derived from the many table. Think of your phone and credit card
bills.

Can Publisher 2003 do this? Has anyone done this? I am just looking into
Catalogue Merge, but it is the end of the day and I want to get a little
farther on this in the morning.

Any suggestions, links, hints, etc. would be appreciated.

Thanks you in advance for your support.

P.S. Hello, Mary Sauer. You were an amazing resource to us a couple of years
ago when we first started using Publisher as our form design tool. Thanks!!

Hello Alcide,

Thanks for the kudos, you made my day.

If you have all the information in one database then you can merge it all into
the same catalogue. When you have a catalogue block you can place the fields
(text boxes) anywhere in the block. One can create an attractive directory with
the catalogue merge.

Lots of information here:

Hello Mary,

What if I want information from more than one table merged into the same
document. When I am in catalogue merge it seems I can only choose one table
as a datasource. After I connected to my Access table (the one side of the
relationship) I tried to go back (via Previous) and connect to another table,
but once I do that the merge fields from the previous Access table disappears.

Thanks in advance for your assistance,

Alcide
