Public Contacts cannot open item

When I try to open a contact in the public folder shared contacts it gives
the message that Cannot Open This Item. I have set permissions for me as
owner. Any suggestions on what I might look for?
Using Exchange Server 2003 and client is Outlook 2007 beta
