Public folder accidentally deleted

D

daniel.dougan

We use a public folder on a Managed Exchange server to read our
support e-mails and voice mails. On occasion, when I delete a message,
I have accidentally deleted the folder. There has been no warning, no
"Are you sure you want to do this?" etc.

This has caused me a lot of problems and support tickets with our
Managed Exchange provider...including a fee for restoring the lost
folder. Can you help me prevent this problem from happening again?

Hi Daniel!

Your Exchange Service provider should be able to help you (or the owner
of the public folder) set permissions so that the folder itself can not
be deleted. If you are the owner then you have full control over the
folder and can delete it. You may want to have an account, which is not
used by a person, to be set as an administrative owner. You can then
switch to that account only when necessary to do administrative tasks.

Hope this helps!
