Pull down menu change default color

Dear guru,

How can I change the default color(blue) into red if I want to
choose options "banana" and "Apple".

That I know of there is no way...

You can change the background and the text color only.

<select size="4" name="D1" multiple style="border-style: solid;
border-width:2px; color:#800000; background-color:#FFFF66">
<option>Apple</option>
<option>Orange</option>
<option>Banana</option>
<option>Lemon</option>
</select>
