Pulling out mailboxes for archiving...

I'd read somewhere on Mactopia, I think, where if you want to "archive"
mailboxes you can just drag them to your desk top and store them that way.
But when I do that -- drag a mailbox out of Entourag -- it DOES go over to
my desktop BUT it also leaves that same mailbox exactly where it was in
Entourage's ON MY COMPUTER list/pane. So it's just making a copy of the
mailbox, not removing it. What's that about? I want to get some mailboxes
OFF of Entourage and just store them for archving.

Thanks

Errrr...just delete the folder after you create the mbox file.

If you want to delete the message and not the folder, select all messages
and delete.

An easy way to delete old mail is to create a Custom View

Date received is xxxxdays old

Select the icon for the view and drag to desktop. Now select messages and
delete.
