Question about sharing calendars in a mixed environment

Greetings to you all. :)

I've been tasked with providing sharing of Outlook calendars betwee
Windows XP and Mac OS X machines on a network with no Exchange server.
I've been looking at Exchange server replacements and have 'Kolab
(http://www.kolab.org/) installed on a Linux server they have. I'v
found Outlook add-ons for Windows that allow connection to Kolab a
well as a standalone solution called "OfficeCalendar" that share
Outlook calendars without an Exchange server of any kind but tha
doesn't work for Mac OS X clients. :(

This brings me here. :) I'm not a Mac user but I'm desperately tryin
to find a solution that will enable Outlook on Mac OS or Entourage t
share calendars with other Outlook on Windows users.

Are there no options but to bite the missile and install a rea
Exchange server? I've seen some comments where some have Entourage an
iCal on OS X communicating with 'Open-XChange
(http://mirror.open-xchange.org/ox/EN/community/) but I'm not findin
any info on that site regarding sharing calendars with Mac clients.

Any ideas or suggestions on solving this problem would be greatl
appreciated! The network currently has 2 OS X boxes and about 1
Windows boxes connected.
