How do I insert a hyperlink into an Entourage email message that I want
to send? I'm at impasse. Thanks!

You can insert a hyperlink into the message by cutting and pasting it from
your browser or just typing it in. You'll need to include http:// if you're
typing it yourself. Also if it's a long link you should enclose it with
these symbols < > to that it doesn't mess it up in case it wraps.

It won't look like a hyperlink when you send it, but it will when the
recipient receives it.

You can't do it directly. There are a couple of workarounds, however:

1) when inserting a URL, make sure you include the "http://" prefix. Most
email clients should recognise the URL and make it an active hyperlink.

2) use Paul Berkowitz's free script Make Hyperlinks X
<http://scriptbuilders.net/files/makehyperlinksx2.2.1.html>. Just follow the
instructions in the readme file.

3) If you have Office 2004 and Entourage is your default email client, you
could compose your email in Word, add the hyperlink and then send the
document to Entourage as HTML using the File>Send To command.

If it's a very long URL, check out http://tinyurl.com. You can make the
URL into something very short.
