Question that's hard to categorize

Hi,

I am using Word 2000. I would love to have a non-printing object, dialog box
or other device come up automatically when I open a certain Word document
with a message that I pre-define, reminding co-workers and me to go to the
bottom of the document to fill in some info. Any ideas?

I've played around with cross-references and bookmarks, but every reminder I
tried printed on the document.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks.

Hi Kath,

You can do this with a field that tests the print date and time.

For a 'tutorial' with examples of how you can do this and much more than you
ever thought you might want to with dates and times, all using Word fields,
download the Word document at:
www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showthreaded.pl?Number=249902
(url all one line)

Two examples are give, one under "Use a date test to provide pre-printing
instructions", the other under "Hide instructions at print time".

Cheers
