Queston on low priced OEM Office CD

B

Barry

I'm already a licensed owner of Office 2002 Pro (Not for Retail). I really
don't want to buy Office 2003. I just want to get my hand on a legit copy of
Publisher 2002. I came across a site called aboveground solutions selling a
Publisher 2002 CD for $99. It was just for an OEM CD with no manuals or tech
support.

How do I determine if such an offer is legit? Another site was offering
Office 2003 Pro for $149, same deal as the one above. Just the CD (& CD Key)
and no manuals or tech support.

It's a situation of "buyer beware". If a deal sounds too good
to be true, one usually ends up with a bogus version of software.
Only purchase your software from a reputable company that
has a documented track record. Also, OEM versions of Microsoft
software cannot upgrade over an existing version, and cannot
be transferred to another computer in the future.

Example of a safe buy:

Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 Upgrade - Retail
