random images don't print

This is driving me nuts. When I print out my document, some of the images don't show up. Instead, I get the box with the circle, triangle, and square inside. Same thing happens to some of my PDFs

It seems to be totally random, is the truly crazy part. I spend way too much time reprinting pages, hoping the images will be there

Any ideas

I'm using Word 97(not my fault).....

View the entire doc b4 printing. Easy way is to zoom to 10%, wait for
all pages to fill in properly, scroll bar down, wait, etc until all
done
