Random Slides: Attn. Tushar Mehta.

Hi Tushar,
I downloaded your wonderful RandomSlideshow utility and it works
perfectly from the PPT menu toolbar. But I would now like to
incorporate it into one of many "kiosk" slideshows triggered by an
Action Button placed on the Master Title Slide.

I have installed the Button with a link to "randomslideshow.ppa" which
at runtime acts as follows:
(1) A warning appears that "Certain Files" can cause damage, and (2) a
second message box announces that an Add-In of the same name already
exists. The slide show then aborts.

How can I make the Action Button directly trigger the utility? If
relevant, I would always want the first (title) slide to be shown
first, so if the dialog to choose that could be suppressed, so much the
better.

Congratulations on such a useful utility, and TIA,
Robert.

Hi:

Sorry for not getting back sooner. You have a really interesting idea.
Unfortunately, given the current design of the add-in, I don't see any
way to make it work.

I tried a few different things but either the add-in cannot handle it
or PP won't cooperate. An example of the latter is this: the current
version of the add-in lets one save a randomized slide sequence as a
custom show. So, I figured why not do that and then link the "main"
kiosk button/whatever to the custom show using an "Action Setting"
option. Unfortunately, PP doesn't allow one to show a custom show in
another file.

I will take another look at the add-in but a current high-priority
task, among several other 'high priority' tasks, is to finish a rewrite
of the Timer add-in.
