RBS Structure - Character vs. Number

Does anyone have a recommendation for an RBS structure - Character vs.
Number? My RBS is based on my company org chart, which brings the RBS
into about 8 levels. I'm struggling with whether I should keep the RBS
based on Number, which seems to make it harder to find which company
position I'm looking for (01.01.01.02.02.01), or maybe to change the
RBS based on Character, in which case the RBS reference is so long with
with up to 8 different position descriptors (Gen Mgr.SVP Ops.VP Ops.Liq
Mgr.Line Supv.....etc.).
Are there pro's/con's to either configuration? How about when using
Portfolio Analyzer. Will either be easier/harder to manage?

I've had conflicting recommendations and want to put this to rest.
Thanks!!!!

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is going to
close down. Regarding your question, I would strongly recommend that you go
with a character-based RBS rather than a numeric RBS. Using plain language
characters would make reporting much easier to do and understand, especially
in Portfolio Analyzer views. Hope this helps.
