I would like to report this error, but I cannot find a
better place than this. If you know where I can reply,
please let me know. Here is the error I am seeing:
This is an inconsistent repro, however it has been seen
several times.
I have only tested on one account, and a single pair of
machines.
Issue: Excel generates a "cannot empty clipboard" error
dialog when copying used via Remote Desktop Connection
(RDC).
Version info:
OS XPSP1 ( both computers )
Excel 2003 (ver 11.5612.5703)
Using domain account. Both machines using logged on as
same account.
Repro:
View an xp machine using RPC. On that connection:
Open 2 different Excel books.
Create a row with the following formats:
1/2 of cells are horizontal test alligned
other half are normally alligned.
Cells have a border change ( under format cells )
Paste this into second spreadsheet
On first spread sheetselect something else to copy.
press Ctl-V or Edit\Copy
Expected:
Earlier selected rows will unselect.
Newly selected rows will get selection laso around it.
The contents of the row will be placed in the clipboard.
Actual:
Earlier selected rows still selected
The contents of the row will be placed in the clipboard.
Clipboard contents unchanged.
Error dialog pops up:
Title "Microsoft Excel"
Body "Cannot empty clipboard."
If user closes RDC, and uses original machine to
continue, this succeeds.
