Re-creating controls in Access 2007 sample contact list split form

I am trying to re-create the Contact List Split form controls that are
prevalent in various MS Access 2007 SPlit Form samples. I can't seem to get
the control to extend below the detail bar as in the samples. Can anyone give
me a few tips on how to recreate this nice split form?
