? re. Legal Apps? & ODBC?

T

Thomas Landry

My first post was a rant - Thank you to Dano & Bonnie for
rational responses! :)

2 questions:

Q1: I am evaluating software on a Mac G5 for my law
office - I have various Windows software which I am happy
with, but none of what I've bought is dual platform.

I would appreciate any input anyone here has about use of
Entourage/MS Office X in Law office applications,
AND
any specific law office/legal apps anyone can actually
recommend (or warn about!!) Particularly:
(A) Integrated case management;
(B) Accounting &
(C) Bankruptcy.

Q2: Does anyone know if Mac apps can share ODBC
databases with Win apps either:
(A) running on Virt.PC or
(B) connected via RDC or
(C) connected over a network???
Specifically, I an interested in sharing a Win based ODBC
database (all my contact & calander info) with Mac based
calander & email programs - preferably Office, but
doesn't have to be..

THANK YOU In Advance!
Tom.

I think you would do better to post this question on the
microsoft.public.mac.office newsgroup rather than on the specifically
Entourage newsgroup. There are a few people who frequent the more general
Office newsgroup who might have some answers and suggestions.

I've cross-posted here to microsoft.public.mac.office . You should subscribe
to that newsgroup and go there for answers and follow-ups.

Hi Jim,

regarding Q2 :

A.) depends on the database really. There have been issues with TDS
based connections (SQL Server & Sybase SQL Anywhere)
B.) Yes
C.) Yes
