i posted before and did not recieve a response, so here goes again.

I am getting emails from friends with red X's instead of pictures. THis
is a new problem. I have been getting emails from these people for
years without problems. I have been using entourage since November
2005. This problem just started a month or two ago. I am using
microsoft office 2004 for mac: student and teacher edition. My computer
is a mac g5, os 10.4.6.

I have checked and rechecked my preferences.

1. show attached pictures and movies in messages is checked
2. automatically download pictures from address book contacts is
checked
3. display complex HTML in messages is checked

This is very frustrating. Is anyone else having this problem?
Is there a fix?

A new security feature in Entourage 2004 blocks the display of pictures (and
other linked mail content) hosted on remote sites. Images can be loaded for
individual messages by clicking on the ŒDownload Pictures¹ link in the
yellow message status bar. This was a huge feature request from users that
found the all embracing ŒAll Pictures¹ or ŒNo Pictures¹ too limiting.

There is a setting in the security section of the preferences to
automatically download pictures from recipients who are in your address
book. That should suffice for most users. If you really want to download all
images from all sources, you can put ".com", ".net", ".org" etc to your list
of safe domains in the Junk Mail Protection dialog. Then, images from all
untrustworthy sources will be downloaded.

Barry,

I have clicked the "download pictures" in the yellow message status
bar. Nothing happens. Also, i do have automatically download pictures
from recipients in my address book checked. THe problem doesn't happen
to all messages, just some. I dont know why. I even tried viewing the
pictures from my .mac account on apples web site. Still cant see the
pictures. I am thinking that maybe it isn't a problem with entourage
since i can not view it from my .mac account? But, why cant i view it?
