I have created a signature file that contains tect and a graphic. It works
fine but when I send an email, it arrives with an attachment. Is the
attachment the grapic in the sugnature? If so, can I get outlook to use the
signature without thinking there is an attachment?

No.
On your pc a file is called a file, but when you attach a file to an e-mail
it becomes an attachment.
The only solution is to remove the graphic.

False. If the message is HTML (or Rich Text) and the graphic is embedded in
the sig file, it is shown in the message just fine.
