"read Receipt" return response

Minnesota Manager

Do all recievers know when there is a read reciept tied to emails. In other
words, does the reciever know that I have set a read receipt because the
system automaticlly tells them AND gives them the opportunity NOT to advise
me OR is there a way that I can use it without notifiying them that I have
requested notification?

depends. you have the option to configure your Outlook client for one of 3
responses..

always send receipt
always ask if I want to send a receipt
never send receipt

I don't believe there is any way possible to hide it if they know what they
are doing (how to change their client setting) and don't want you to know
if/when it is read.

I didn't see an answer to your question? Do all recievers know when there is
a read reciept tied to emails? If they can how do they see it? I did a test
and put a read receipt request but I didn't see it show up any where on the
email. Can you let me know where to look for that?

Thanks
Kelly

I would also like to know if their is a way to hide from the recipient that
you attached a read receipt to the email message. Please let me no ASAP if
anyone has an idea to get this working.

While it's not immediately visible by default, you can't hide it from the
recipient - use web bugs if you want any hope of silently tracking users
(but note it's not 100% accurate either).
