Read Receipts

Am I correct in saying that Entourage does not utilize read and delivery
receipts, a feature that even it's free Outlook Express for Windows has? My
understanding is that you can set up Entourage so all out going messages
request a read receipt, but that if those messages are sent to Entourage, no
receipt will be returned. So, that's not really a viable work around.

If I am wrong, how do you access the feature as I cannot find it anywhere in
the help files--online, locally, etc.

If I am correct, which I think is the case, is there a work around? Also, is
there any way to get Microsoft to add this feature as an update. Microsoft
likes to leave Macs in the dust at times, but really, this feature is how old
now?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

I found this for you from a very long thread on this subject generated in
June. It is the cleanest answer I could find.

It was very good of Walt to post this. I haven¹t checked it in detail
myself, but I have been able to set up my own Entourage preferences to
recognize receipt requests and copy them to a special mailbox called
Receipts! so I can tell when one has arrived.

Best,

These are KISS instructions for getting Entourage to handle a request for a
return receipt.
