ReadFilteredProjectList Method Gone

I noticed that the ReadFilteredProjectList method disappeared from the
Project Web Service in the final release. It was a great way of generating a
secuity-tailored list of projects for a custom web part and had the filtering
flexibility. Does anyone know why this went away? I have not seen a good
replacement method in the final release.
