rebuild problems with Entourage X

Anyone seen and solved this issue?

1. Entourage crashes,
2. you click Option Entourage and the rebuild options are available
3. you try typical rebuild - the process hangs at 200th or so rercord
4. It then says cannot rebuild do you want to try advanced
you click yes
5. advanced rebuild does not complete
6. you get a message saying your databse cannot be repaired
7. your email is inaccessible
8. while this is happening, any Office program you launch such as Word
or Excel says Framework X problem when it starts up - but works ok
after that

everything works fine if you clean this account and create a new
account
except of course all your regular email is inaccessible.

Office X and OSX latest (and presumably greatest) versions.

any help or pointers will be greatly appreciated.

everything works fine if you clean this account and create a new

Sounds like your database is hosed.
Office X and OSX latest (and presumably greatest) versions.

That's pretty vague for version numbers. For the latest Entourage see:
