receive error message "winword caused error in winword.exe."

I'm unable to open any existing word docs, and I'm unable to use the Task
Launcher to create a new Word Doc for the same reason. I've performed a
System Restore and uninstalled and reinstalled MS WORD 2000 SR-1 and the MS
WORKS 6.0 with no change.
