Receiving attachments

HOw do I enable Outlook to receive attachments? It keeps
blocking them, including critical updates I receive from
Microsoft.

Microsoft do NOT, EVER send updates by email. Those are viruses and you are
being protected by this!

This is what I received. IS it a virus?! It has the
microsoft logo, copyright, links to Microsoft and
everything.

Yep, it's a virus. As I said, Microsoft DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES send
out updates by email.

Please follow the attched link to the MSKB that explains the blocked
attachments scenario within Outlook 2002 and how to switch off specific file
attachment blocking.

HOWEVER, do be careful in that a) you are tinkering with the registry and b)
Some attachments ARE harmful such as the one you mention, supposidly from
Microsoft. As others have stated, Microsoft never send out such fixes en
mass. The only time they do send out a fix is following direct contact with
them by telephone under a paid for support contract. This is then in the
form of an FTP download link with a passcode supplied.
