Receiving Duplicate Emails

Every couple months or so, Entourage decides it wants to receive all
800 emails all over again, I already have doubles of many, how do I
keep Entourage from doing this??? I need to check today and yesterdays
emails, but I don't want to put another 1000 emails in my inbox. Any
ideas????

Usually this is server error and not Entourage. If you rebuild Entourage it
will loose the info and download all messages left on server.

About the only advice I can give you is to point you to the Delete Duplicate
scripts to deal with the result.

I used to have the same problem. Seven months ago I switched to Apple
Mail and it hasn't happened since.

Pure coincidence. The problem is typically caused by the server, not
the client.

Obviously this does happen with Apple Mail as well:

etc.

As Diane mentioned, several scripts have been written to remove
duplicate messages from Entourage:

One of them is written by yours truly: "Remove Duplicate Messages"
Author: Jolly Roger

What I like about mine is it doesn't just go by the subject, date, and
sender, but also by the message ID, which is always unique - so my
script won't think two messages are the same by accident. Also, my
script keeps a log of what it does and archives all messages it deletes
so if you want one back you can just drag it back into Entourage.
