receiving duplicates

Anybody know why Entourage sometimes re-sends messages? I'm finding that
at least once a week, I'm re-receiving ALL the messages that I've already
received, read, stored or deleted for the week! My accounts are set to
save 3-days worth on our server and to delete messages from our server
when deleted from the program. I'm running OS10.2.8, Entourage 10.1.4.
OUr server says it's not them... any idea how I can get this to stop???

Which type of account are you using , is it excahgne IMAP or POP3?

Although I'm not the original poster, I can confirm that as of a few
weeks ago, using a POP3 server via SSL, and a newly upgraded version
of Entourage 2004 with latest updates, I too have begun to regularly
re-receive deleted mail, and worst case, all mail that was previously
downloaded but remains saved on the POP3 server for up to in my case 4
days; where on frequent occasion the server either doesn't properly
receive the request to delete, or was never sent properly, then simply
re-downloads, as well as either the server or Entourage seems to
re-serialize the messages when a connection fails, and then thinks all
the old previously downloaded mail are new and downloads duplicates,
sometimes several times. Basically someone broke the POP3
client/server required implementation when mail remains on the POP3
server. (This is not good at all to be polite, but have found that
until someone can find and fix the problem, things are more stable if
I don't try to save mail on the POP3 server, which prevents me from
accessing my mail consistently from two or more computers, but it's
better than several copies on my primary one.)
