receiving email

my entourage 2004 stopped allowing me to receive email but stil will
send emails. I checked and the settings are correct. any suggestions?

What type of account is it (POP, IMAP, Hotmail, Exchange...) ?? DO you
get any warning ?? What if you manually try to get the e-mail, does it
work ??
